Meet the band
Guitar, vocals
Duluth guitarist and songwriter with deep roots in the Twin Ports scene, from earlier ska and related projects to running a concert café that keeps all-ages music on the calendar. On stage with Woodblind Ska he drives the songs with rhythm and melody that lean toward classic Jamaican ska and rocksteady, with room for guests when the night calls for a bigger band.
Upright bass
Upright bassist based in Los Angeles who splits time on the road and in the studio. His playing anchors the duo’s acoustic sound (walking lines, punchy intros, and the kind of pocket you want under ska and reggae), whether it is a stripped-down set or a festival-stage lineup with horns and friends. He meets the band where the calendar lands, from café rows to festival risers, without losing the snap.

Woodblind
The first full-length. Press often contrasts this set with later work: a cleaner, crisper studio read on acoustic ska and rocksteady, still rooted in the Twin Ports. Teague Alexy appears on the cover of Creedence’s “The Working Man,” a thread that continues in live big-band lineups.
Woodblind
Second album, cut with Rich Mattson at Sparta Studio. Reviewers heard a murkier, fatter mix, closer in spirit to a 1960s Jamaican LP than the brighter first record, while still landing the “northwoods ska” humor and swing. Duluth Reader singled out songs like “Downtown,” “Queen of the Iron Range,” and “Dust” for color and mood.
Teague Alexy & Woodblind
A collaborative LP with Teague Alexy (originals, live moments, and dub versions), framed in radio coverage as a shared love of ska, reggae, and dub. North 103.3’s Studio A session is a good on-ramp if you want to hear the band talk through the project.
